Solar Panel Concept: A solar power generation system consists of a solar cell array, a solar controller, and a battery pack. If the output power source is 220V or 110V AC, an inverter is also required. The functions of each component are as follows
Solar Panels
Solar panels are the core and most valuable component of a solar power generation system. They convert solar radiation into electrical energy, either storing it in a battery or powering a load. The quality and cost of the solar panels directly determine the quality and cost of the entire system.
Solar Controller
The solar controller controls the operating status of the entire system and provides overcharge and over-discharge protection for the battery. In environments with large temperature fluctuations, a qualified controller should also include temperature compensation. Other additional functions, such as light-controlled switching and time-controlled switching, should be optional.
Batteries
These are generally lead-acid batteries. In small and micro systems, nickel-metal hydride, nickel-cadmium, or lithium batteries can also be used. Its function is to store the electricity generated by solar panels during periods of sunlight and release it when needed.
Inverter
In many situations, 220VAC or 110VAC AC power is required. Since direct solar power output is generally 12VDC, 24VDC, or 48VDC, to power 220VAC appliances, the DC power generated by the solar power generation system must be converted into AC power, requiring a DC-AC inverter. In some situations, when loads with multiple voltages are required, a DC-DC inverter is also required, such as converting 24VDC power to 5VDC (note, this is not simply stepping down the voltage).
