Direct photoelectric conversion utilizes the photoelectric effect to convert solar radiation directly into electrical energy. The basic device for this conversion is a solar cell. A solar cell is a device that converts sunlight directly into electricity through the photovoltaic effect. It is a semiconductor photodiode.
