Energy storage capacity must be calculated based on the PV plant's peak power, load demand, and storage duration. The formula is: Energy Storage Capacity (kWh) = System Efficiency PV Peak Power (kW) × Storage Duration (h)

 

For example, a 10MW PV plant equipped with 2-hour energy storage, assuming an 85% system efficiency, requires approximately 23.5MWh of storage capacity. Furthermore, the principle of "stability first, economical balance" must be adhered to. The energy storage ratio (typically 10%-30% of the PV capacity) should be determined through load curve analysis to avoid over-configuration and resulting cost redundancy.
