Lead-acid battery cycle life
Four methods can improve cycle life:
[I] Using a lead-calcium alloy with a high tin content for the grid alloy can overcome early failure caused by grid creep;
[II] Preventing plate expansion by increasing the plate normal pressure from 8kPa to 40kPa can increase the cycle life from 200 to 700 cycles;
[III] A reasonable charging schedule, specifically controlling the charge amount and charge rate at the end of the cycle to ensure sufficient charge;
[IV] Improving the negative electrode expansion agent to prevent the hardening of the sponge lead active material in the negative electrode.
