A solar micro-PV inverter is a device that converts DC power from a single solar cell module to AC power. A micro-inverter converts DC power from a single solar module to AC power. Each solar cell module is equipped with inverter and converter functions, allowing each component to independently convert current, hence the name micro-inverter. Micro-PV inverters can implement maximum power point tracking (MPPT) at the panel level, offering advantages over central inverters. This allows for optimization of the output power of each module, maximizing overall output power.

Microinverters are primarily used in small residential or commercial projects. Large power plants typically face few natural obstructions, other than clouds, and due to regular maintenance, the impact of shadows on output power is relatively minimal. However, small residential and commercial projects, often in complex building environments, are susceptible to shade from trees, buildings, and other debris, making them more susceptible. Research conducted by international institutions indicates that output power can be lost by as much as 50% or more depending on the degree of shadowing. Traditional centralized or string inverters require consistent power distribution across connected modules. If the output power of a module is reduced due to shadowing, the output of other modules in the same string must also be reduced to that of the original module, impacting the output of the entire string. Microinverters, however, provide each module with its own dedicated inverter. This allows unshaded modules to maintain normal output, minimizing losses to the entire system.

Ordinary inverter

DC 12V or 24V input, AC 220V, 50Hz output, power ranges from 75W to 5000W, some models have AC-DC conversion, i.e. UPS function.

Inverter/Charger

This type of inverter allows users to use various power sources to power AC loads: when AC power is available, the inverter uses AC power to power loads or charge batteries; when AC power is unavailable, batteries are used to power AC loads.
