Philippines Schedules 10GW Renewable Energy Auction

The Philippines, June 2025 - The Department of Energy (DOE) of the Philippines has officially launched its fourth green energy auction (GEA-4), aiming to secure over 10GW of solar and wind power generation capacity to accelerate the country's clean energy transition.
The Auction Schedule
June 16 - 20th: Bidders' registration
June 23 - 27th: Evaluation of bid documents
July 28th: Pre-bid meeting
August 12 - 27th: Submission of bid security
September 2nd: Auction day
The results will be confirmed on September 17th, and the winning projects will be approved on September 30th. The projects must be operational by 2026 to 2029.

Regulatory Support
On June 13th, the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) set a price cap to ensure competitive bidding. The Department of Energy (DOE) emphasized transparency and efficiency to attract investment and stated that this process aims to "increase the share of renewable energy in the power structure, enhance grid reliability, and enhance energy security".
The Department of Energy has again clearly stated that it will commit to adopting "transparent, fair competition mechanisms" to achieve the country's sustainable development goals.
