Currently, about 37% of Australia's electricity comes from solar and wind energy, with another 6% from hydropower stations. Australia leads the world in per capita solar power generation, and is fourth in terms of per capita solar and wind power generation. Since 2015, 99% of the new power generation capacity in Australia has come from solar and wind energy, all of which are private investments.

Australia is an economically developed country. It has no nuclear power or coal resources, and only a small amount of hydropower. However, the output of its solar and wind power generation has doubled every five years, and the rapid decline in costs is accompanied by rich experience in the high-level management of wind and solar energy, which is worthy of being learned by other countries.

One-third of Australian residences have installed rooftop solar panels. Additionally, people usually abandon gas appliances and switch to electrical ones. It has been proven that decarbonizing Australia's electricity is not a difficult task. Grid analysts believe that as long as new energy storage and transmission facilities keep up, there won't be any major issues in increasing the proportion of solar and wind power generation to 75% by 2030.
