Components of lithium-ion battery
1. Dry battery (the commonly used one is carbon-zinc dry battery): the negative pole is a cylinder made of zinc, with ammonium chloride as electrolyte, a small amount of zinc chloride, inert filler and paste electrolyte mixed with water, and the positive pole is a carbon rod wrapped with paste electrolyte mixed with manganese dioxide. The electrode reaction is that the zinc atom at the negative electrode becomes zinc ion (Zn++) and releases electrons, and the ammonium ion (NH4+) at the positive electrode gets electrons and becomes ammonia and hydrogen. Use manganese dioxide to remove hydrogen to eliminate polarization. The electromotive force is about 1.5 volts.
2. Lead acid batteries are most commonly used. The plates are grids made of lead alloy, and the electrolyte is dilute sulfuric acid. Both plates are covered with lead sulfate. However, after charging, lead sulfate on the positive electrode plate changes into lead dioxide, and lead sulfate on the negative electrode changes into metal lead. When discharging, the chemical reaction in the opposite direction occurs.
3. Lead crystal battery: The lead crystal battery uses proprietary technology. The high conductivity silicate electrolyte used is a complex modification of the traditional lead acid battery electrolyte, and the acid-free atomization process is an innovation of the molding process.
4. Iron-nickel battery: also called Edison battery. Lead battery is a kind of acid battery. Unlike it, the electrolyte of iron-nickel battery is alkaline potassium hydroxide solution, which is an alkaline battery. Its positive electrode is nickel oxide and its negative electrode is iron. The electromotive force is about 1.3 to 1.4 volts. Its advantages are light, long service life, easy maintenance, and its disadvantages are low efficiency.
5. Nickel-cadmium battery: the positive electrode is nickel hydroxide, the negative electrode is cadmium, and the electrolyte is potassium hydroxide solution.
