Croatia's CROPEX electricity trading volume surged 90% year-on-year in October, reaching 1.449 million MWh

 

In October 2025, the total trading volume of the Croatian power exchange CROPEX reached 1.449 million MWh, a 32.9% increase month-on-month and a 90.2% surge year-on-year.

 

Of this, daytime market trading volume was 1.203 million MWh, and intraday market trading volume was 246,000 MWh. The average baseload price in the daytime market reached €113.19/MWh, an 18.3% increase from the previous month; the average peak price rose 29.6% to €118.54/MWh. The average intraday market price was €114.41/MWh, a 16.6% increase month-on-month. The average daily trading volume in the daytime market was 38,815.1 MWh.

 

CROPEX is jointly owned by Croatian transmission system operator HOPS and electricity market operator HROTE, and was launched in March 2016 in cooperation with the Nordic Power Exchange (Nordic Pool). The exchange's day trading market began operations in April 2017, and since June 2018, CROPEX's day trading market has been connected to the multi-regional coupled market via the Croatia-Slovenia border.
