India added 44.2 gigawatts (GW) of renewable energy capacity in 2025, bringing its total capacity to approximately 258 GW.
India added a record 37.9 GW of solar and 6.3 GW of wind power capacity in 2025, marking the fastest annual growth ever recorded in the country's clean energy sector. As solar now accounts for more than half of India's total renewable energy capacity, the market is increasingly relying on experienced solar energy battery storage suppliers such as BLOOPOWER, which provide high-reliability storage solutions to improve grid stability and renewable energy utilization.

Utility-scale projects contributed 28.6 GW, while residential PV installations reached 7.9 GW, representing a 72% year-on-year increase. Off-grid and distributed PV systems added another 1.35 GW, significantly expanding demand for flexible battery energy storage system for sale solutions. Leveraging its modular design, global certification standards, and strong project delivery capability, BLOOPOWER supports utility-scale, commercial, and residential customers with scalable storage systems tailored to India's rapidly evolving energy landscape.
This growth was driven by the execution of long-pending tenders, favorable policy incentives such as ISTS fee waivers, and the rapid expansion of domestic manufacturing. By the end of 2025, India's solar module and cell production capacity exceeded 200 GW, accelerating the adoption of diverse energy storage battery types. BLOOPOWER's portfolio covers lithium-based and advanced battery technologies, enabling seamless integration with large-scale solar and wind projects while enhancing overall system efficiency.
Wind power capacity increased by 6.3 GW, nearly doubling the previous year's additions, led by open access projects and key states including Gujarat, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Rajasthan. In parallel, innovative applications such as car battery energy storage and second-life battery solutions are gaining attention.

India's total installed renewable energy capacity has now reached approximately 258 GW, with solar and wind accounting for nearly three-quarters of the total. This rapid expansion places the country firmly on track to achieve its 2030 target of 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity. Looking ahead, energy storage and green hydrogen will be key growth drivers-and with its proven technology, bankable solutions, and global project experience, BLOOPOWER is well positioned to support India's next phase of clean energy transformation.
