According to the data from the website of the Italian National Power Grid Company (Terna), in May, Italy added 22,245 new PV installations, with a new capacity of 494.88MW. At the same time, 14,467 new electrochemical energy storage devices integrated with renewable energy were added.

PV Installation Situation
Compared to May 2024, the number of PV installations has increased by 13.49% (an increase of 234,842 units). Since the beginning of the year, the cumulative number of newly activated installations has reached 97,399 units.

ESS Installation Situation
Compared to May 2024, the number of energy storage systems has increased by 25.92% (an increase of 165,455 units). Since the beginning of the year, the cumulative number of newly activated devices has reached 67,846 (an increase of 5,432%).

In March, 18,988 new PV installations were installed in Italy, adding a capacity of 620.93MW. Additionally, 12,519 new electrochemical energy storage devices integrated with renewable energy were installed. In May, the number of new PV installations increased to 22,245, with a power output lower than that of the 18,988 installations in March (620.93MW). This indicates an increase in the installation of small-scale systems.
