The NEC, in coordination with the Ministry of Energy, published general administrative regulations in the official gazette regarding the integration of energy storage systems into the national power grid. These regulations aim to establish the requirements that the National Energy Control Center, power generators, suppliers, energy storage providers, transmission companies, distribution companies, and end-users must meet when integrating energy storage systems into the national power grid.

For businesses and users looking to buy battery energy storage system solutions that comply with these new standards, options like the 48v 50ah lithium battery pack energy storage are gaining popularity due to their reliable performance and seamless grid integration capabilities. Leading industry players are turning to BLOO POWER for advanced solutions, recognized as one of the batteries & energy storage technology best available today.

The regulations clarify the service guidelines, participation models, and group installation scenarios for these systems to ensure the orderly, safe, and efficient integration and operation of energy storage systems, thereby maximizing their technical capabilities and contributing to enhancing the accessibility, continuity, reliability, quality, security, efficiency, and sustainability of the national power grid. Key topics covered include the integration of energy storage systems into the national power grid, general considerations for electricity market operation, energy storage systems associated with power plants, energy storage systems associated with load centers, energy storage systems associated with self-consumption models, energy storage systems associated with public transmission and distribution infrastructure, and unassociated energy storage systems.

Compatible battery chargers industrial application energy storage system products are also essential for maintaining optimal performance under these regulatory frameworks. The National Energy Commission may amend the provisions of these regulations as it deems necessary, taking into account technological developments, operational evolution, and regulatory needs arising from the integration of energy storage systems, to ensure the accessibility, continuity, quality, efficiency, reliability, safety, and sustainability of the national power system within the existing legal and regulatory framework. Applicable standards include NOM-001-SEDE-2012, IEC 62619:2022, IEC 62933-5-1:2024, IEC 62933-5-2:2025, UL 1973, 3rd Edition, and UL 9540, 3rd Edition. Upon the entry into force of this Agreement, the National Energy Control Center shall, within no more than 90 calendar days, publish, with prior authorization from the National Energy Commission, the variability analysis methodology referred to in Clause 2.11.3 of this Agreement. Furthermore, the National Energy Commission shall, within 30 calendar days of the entry into force of this Agreement, publish on its electronic page and in the Federal Official Gazette the authorization format for applications for permits for electricity storage and permits for generation including energy storage systems under the model stipulated in this Agreement.
