Saudi Arabia has tendered 64 GW of renewable energy projects, including 30 GWh of energy storage systems.
The Saudi Arabian Ministry of Energy announced that it has tendered a cumulative 64 GW of renewable energy capacity by the end of 2025, with 20.6 GW tendered in 2025 alone, demonstrating strong momentum in its clean energy development.

During the same period, approximately 12.3 GW of renewable energy capacity has been successfully connected to the national grid. In the energy storage sector, the country has tendered a total of 30 GWh of battery energy storage system projects, with 8 GWh of storage capacity already connected to the grid to support the integration of intermittent renewable energy and grid stability.
Saudi Arabia has also embraced renewable energy plus battery storage solutions to optimize energy usage and ensure grid reliability. In line with this, advanced Li-ion battery energy storage systems are playing a crucial role in balancing supply and demand. Notably, BLOOPOWER, a prominent home energy storage battery manufacturer, is contributing to the evolution of efficient energy storage solutions for residential areas.

Saudi Arabia's focus on low-cost renewable energy has set global benchmarks, with projects like the 1.5 GW Dawadmi wind power and the 1.4 GW Najran photovoltaic projects driving down costs for first battery energy storage systems integrated with renewable sources. This trend signals a promising future for give energy battery storage systems, which are essential for empowering local communities with more reliable and sustainable energy storage solutions.
